The alpha pass

signet test · tokens here are test assets with no value; at the mainnet launch, alpha commanders' names, histories and ratings carry across, and alpha pass earners' units too (what carries across)

Earning a place

Places are limited, one per commander, awarded in the order matches are settled. A commander earns one when a unit of theirs comes home to the Hangar at Veteran rank or above from a rated Basic match against another player: a new unit kept after the match, or a hangar unit coming back. Games against the AI never count. A match is rated only once each commander has completed three online matches (rated matches in the guide). Farmed results don't count: an award won by farming is voided, that commander never earns a place again, and the place passes to the next commander in line.

What it unlocks

The pass is the alpha pass, on signet. It makes the account Advanced for the alpha: all-units matches, and the six advanced unit types, the interceptor, heavy gunship, missile battery, bomber, cruiser and dreadnought. It unlocks Advanced only until the alpha closes; after that it stays in the wallet as a keepsake. Earning it also keeps your full rating and your units at the mainnet launch (what carries across).

Getting it

The pass is sent to the commander's Horizon Wallet, the wallet that works on signet (XCP Wallet is mainnet-only). A commander who signed in by email keeps their place until they connect a wallet, and the pass is sent there then.

Graduating

Every commander who earned a place and takes a unit to Elite before the alpha closes graduates: the graduate pass on mainnet is issued to the graduates at the close, and its supply is then locked. It grants Advanced to whoever holds it, so it can be sent or sold, and Advanced goes to the new holder; the badges and records stay with the commander who earned them. A unit at Ace by the close adds a gold badge, and every commander who earned a place has the alpha badge.

When it closes

The alpha closes a set time after the last place is earned.

What carries across to mainnet

Every alpha commander keeps their commander name, match history and an alpha participant badge on mainnet, and their rating carries across, eased halfway back towards the starting rating. Commanders who earn HEXTREK.ALPHATEST keep their full rating, and also keep their units, with their ranks, XP and perks; their units minted on signet are re-issued on mainnet free at the launch, to the mainnet form of the same wallet, with their alpha origin recorded in the certificate. Every other signet token stays in its signet wallet as a keepsake. Records from bugs or farming are voided. An alpha commander is an account that has finished at least three online matches against other players before the alpha closes.
